With ‘Sajni’, the alt rock powerhouse that is "The Yellow Diary", is back to pull on everyone’s heartstrings. A deeply soulful love ballad, ‘Sajni’ is yet another stellar example of the band’s poetic songwriting and layered production. The music video at its heart is the journey of confronting one’s past & letting go, presenting a poignant tale of heartbreak & self-healing – but in reverse.
The visual appeal of the reverse motion of the entire music video not only captures some ingenious moments but sets up for a cathartic closure, as we come to emphasize the loss, grief & deliverance of the protagonist. (played by critically acclaimed actor Saurabh Goyal)
About the band:
A 4-member music collective, The Yellow Diary has a sound that is best described as 'Poetry with Rock'. With a blend of electronic music and rock, they are touted to be a compositional powerhouse with widespread praise from music and film industry in India.
The Yellow Diary consists of Rajan (lead vocals, lyrics), Himonshu (keys, production), Stuart (bass), and Sahil (drums).
They have released two EPs (3 songs each) in the past 2 years, to much critical acclaim & are building a loyal and engaged fan base across the country.
In 2021, TYD released their new single Roz Roz, featuring the ethereal voice of Shilpa Rao. The video stars actress Isha Talwar and the track has already garnered rave reviews from all quarters featuring at #5 on Spotify's Indie India: Best Indie songs of 2021. Their single Dhoondti Firaan (featuring AKASA) has been used to promote the celebrity designer Manish Malhotra's new fashion line.
